The boys take second place at the WB6 Championship meet in Quincy Illinois.  It was a great day to run, with no wind and the cheers from the crowd. Going into this conference meet the team knew they would be underdogs and it would mean that all team members would have to run a great race in order to pull off an upset over U.T.  The Maroons didn’t pull off the upset over U.T, however U.T did have to earn it.  The team ran well, however everyone on the team just wasn’t on today.  This was the second straight week that Jackson ran with back pain throughout the race.  However Tim, Jon and Zach picked up the slack and ran great.  Remember you have trained for this moment all season.  Your coaches have put you into a position to succeed at this time!!  Next week will be a big challenge at the regional meet, because the team will be major underdogs.  The team will need great efforts from their 5th, 6th and 7th runners next week.  The coaches will be looking for that one special individual to step it up during this meet.  (5,6,&7) It’s time to separate and run like it’s your last race!!  If you’re not feeling any pain then your not competing.  (Believe in yourself and your abilities)

It’s not how you start but how your finish
