Sala qualified for the state meet by finishing the Sectional race in 22nd Place, with a time of (19:17). The race was held at Bob Hays Park in Quincy Illinois. Sala lead the Maroons to a 10th Place Team finish in the sectional meet. Sala ran 17 seconds faster this week than the previous week at Minooka Illinois. The field was loaded with top runners from every school. Coach Taylor and Iams goal for Sala was to run with teammate Keeley and push it hard the last mile down the home stretch together. Sala did just that, and qualified for the state meet next Saturday in Peoria Illinois.
