Temp: 52 degrees and light rain
Outstanding race by Karen, running the entire race with one shoe. Going into the first turn, another athlete just stepped on her heel and the shoe went off. (Do you stop and put it back on or keep going?) Just Keep Going!!!! It was amazing that Karen ran a new personal best of 18:20 with one shoe the entire race. Just imagine what her time could have been with both shoes. I’m taking 20-25 seconds off her official time. Karen last three races were off the charts, running a PR in each race. Coach T and Iams always knew that Karen had the ability to performer at a higher level, and this season she believed in herself and ran through the pain!!! Outstanding athlete on the field and in the classroom with a 4.5 gpa. Very nice senior season this year! We love you Karen and will miss you very much next year.
