It was a perfect day to have a championship cross country meet in Quincy Illinois. If not for the 3 hour drive in the middle of week, the Maroon fans and parents would have been in full force at the meet. The team ran great, and each runner never gave up during the race at any point. This team had athlete’s with the flu and one athlete that had been in a car wreck, however they couldn’t justify missing the race because they didn’t want to let down their teammates. The additional two new teams added to the WB6 made this championship race more competitive than ever. Outstanding performances for the lady Maroons today!!! This is when the season starts to get fun, and more challenging and test the will power of each athlete mentality to go through that pain threshold. “You did the summer training, and early mornings and after school workouts. Now it’s time to show the other teams what you are made of. The goal next week is to finish in the top 6 as a team. If everyone run like they did today it should not be a problem however the other teams aren’t going to give it to you.
It’s not how you start, but how you finish
