Timothy qualified for the state meet by finishing the Sectional race in 10th Place, with a time of (15:57). The race was held at Maxwell Park in Normal Illinois. Timothy lead the Maroons to a 12th Place Team finish in the IHSA Sectional Championship meet. The weather was wicked, with driving rain, heavy winds, and cool temps in the 40s, however this didn’t stop Timothy. Timothy embraced the elements of nature and ran to a automatic qualifying bid to next Saturday (IHSA 3A State Championships). Timothy left no doubt after he sprinted across the finish line with a 10th place finish. This is because any athlete finishing the 3.0 mile race in the top ten, automatically qualifies and advances to the IHSA State Championships. Any athlete finishing outside of the top ten runners, will have to play the waiting game. The athlete is hoping and praying that they are one of the top 7 athlete’s to qualify for the IHSA State Championships, (only if their team doesn’t qualify).
Timothy made sure, beyond a shadow of doubt (Top Ten & I’m In) 10th Place baby!!!
The coaches had one goal for Timothy this season, and Timothy achieved it at this meet. All the preparation and training throughout this season was geared towards this meet. (Goal Achieved)** (One more week to make some more history)
